The Books I Read This Year

I’d never been a big reader, or really a reader at all. I’m not sure what changed but in 2019 I definitely caught the reading bug. Books are so important but no one can force you into reading them. It was helpful for me to find books that resonant with you in the current stage of life that you’re in. I began doing this by finding book lists online from people that I look up to. Not trying to imply that any of you look up to me but maybe you just trust my opinions.

Top 10 Books From 2019

You read something which you thought only happened to you, and you discover that it happened 100 years ago to Dostoyevsky. This is a very great liberation for the suffering, struggling person, who always thinks that he is alone. This is why art is important.
— James Baldwin

What was the best book you read this year?

Here are the other books that I read this year that were good but not great enough to make it into the top 10:

Amazon Affiliate disclosure: Those links to buy the books have a tag on it that will allow me to get a kickback of maybe 10 - 20 cents of each of your purchase with no extra cost to you. At first I felt scummy about this then said to myself. Fuck you. I've given all of this free content and read so much this year that I deserve a few dollars. Better yet, you could go to your local book store / library and support them. But if you're totally down with monopolies then go ahead and put Bezos $10 closer to world domination! The choice is yours.
